Aras Innovator 9.3

Since mid-June 2011, Aras Innovator Version 9.3 is available. This new open release of Aras Innovator offers a wide range of new features and capabilities. The PDM functionality of the software was enhanced and optimized tools and processes allow even faster deployment of global installations. Therefore, it is specifically designed for large-scale global PLM deployments. Furthermore numerous enhancements from the developer community were incorporated.

A short overview of the new features:

Framework and usability

• Additional possibilities for configuration management, including baselining throughout data model optimization
• Team authorization concept for easy and dynamic assignment of permissions at runtime
• Support of Internet Explorers 9
• Improved and formatted Excel output

Product engineering

• Enhancement of standard change processes, separate release process for documents, enhanced and simplified change process for large assemblies
• Optional manual revisioning to create and release revisions of change-controlled items without change management process
• Impact analysis through a specialized “Impact Matrix” user interface
• Release simulation
  

Unlike legacy PLM system upgrades, that effectively require a re-implementation and data migration, Aras Innovator is upgraded “in place” in a fraction of the time and effort because no recoding or data migration are necessary. As a result, all Aras Innovator upgrades – major and minor – are now performed for customers, regardless of customization, as part of the Aras Unlimited subscription package, at no additional cost.
